The Future Is Secure: A Foundation for Supporting the Next Generation in the Bavarian Watchmaking Trade

The Foundation for the Promotion of Young Talent in the Bavarian Watchmaking Trade has a new board of directors. This ensures that financial support for apprentices will continue in the state of Bavaria, in accordance with the foundation’s mission.

During the Inhorgenta trade fair in Munich, the foundation’s advisory board elected a new leadership team for the Foundation for the Promotion of Young Talent in the Bavarian Watchmaking Trade. The new chairman is Thomas Horn, a master goldsmith and watchmaker in private practice from Hof and deputy chief master of the Upper Franconia Guild of Watchmakers, Goldsmiths, and Silversmiths.

Horn succeeds Prof. Oliver Belik, Grand Master of the Munich-Upper Bavaria Watchmakers’ Guild, who had previously stepped down from his position as chairman of the foundation.

“We would like to thank Oliver Belik for his many years of dedication to supporting young talent,” said the new chairman, Thomas Horn.

“Without volunteer work and personal dedication, a foundation cannot make a positive impact. And the foundation’s mission—supporting the next generation of watchmakers—is more important than ever.”

Markus Glöggler (Erwin Sattler, Gräfelfing) and Heinz-Dieter Laake (Uhren Laake, Königsbrunn) were elected to the board as statutory representatives from industry and commerce.
