Eberhard & Co. – Clous de Paris
A miniature architecture on the dial
Where structure, light, and craftsmanship merge to form a language of their own, you will find this traditional dial motif—at Eberhard & Co., the independent Swiss manufacturer, Clous de Paris has always been understood as a design statement.
Clous de Paris is a finish that appears different depending on the time of day or season. Traditionally associated with watches of elegant identity, this design also reveals remarkable versatility and enhances timepieces of very different styles.

Classic aesthetics with historical depth
In the models of the 1887 collection, powered by exclusive calibers, the Clous de Paris motif underscores a classic aesthetic, based on careful research into the brand’s historical timepieces. In the 1887 Remontage Manuel, the white or blue finish takes center stage on a sophisticated, retro-inspired dial with a trapezoidal date window. In the two Chronographe 1887 Automatique models, the Clous de Paris dial in argenté or blue enriches an already multi-layered composition: color-coordinated totalizers with azuré decoration reinforce the visual rhythm and dynamism of the design.
Unexpected strength in a sporting context
However, Clous de Paris reveals its most surprising form of expression in a sporty context. On models such as the Chrono 4 “21-42,” the finish acts as a textured background from which the iconic four horizontally arranged displays stand out. Polished edges and azure surfaces break through the geometric texture; in combination with the ceramic bezel, this elegant design takes on a striking, unexpectedly powerful character.
Design element with a future
As a design element that concisely defines highly diverse creations, Clous de Paris will also play a central role in one of the new products for 2026, which the Maison will unveil for the first time at Watches and Wonders Geneva.

Clous de Paris transforms the dial into an architectural stage. A classic guilloché pattern that lends structure and character. From simple displays to complex chronographs.
Eberhard & Co. – Independence with history
Founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1887, Swiss watchmaker Eberhard & Co. represents nearly 140 years of independent watchmaking. The brand is characterized by excellence, a spirit of innovation, and a deep connection to tradition and heritage. What makes Eberhard & Co. special is its extraordinary independence and continuity: since its founding, the company has been run by only two successive families – a rarity in the watch industry. This stability has enabled the brand to remain true to its principles even in challenging times and to develop with foresight.
Icons, reinterpretations, and mechanical commitment
Eberhard & Co. has always impressed with its unique creations. These include the legendary CHRONO 4 with its four horizontally arranged counters, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2026, as well as the sophisticated and elegant 8 JOURS with an eight-day power reserve and the sporty and elegant TAZIO NUVOLARI collection. Historical models such as the SCAFOGRAF, inspired by diving watches of the 1950s, or the SCIENTIGRAF, an anti-magnetic model with a Faraday cage from the 1960s, have been sensitively reinterpreted. This approach was most recently continued in the 1887 collection.

In 2025, the CONTODAT followed—a tribute to 1970s design, available as a chronograph or three-hand watch, and a clear commitment to mechanical watches with automatic movements at the time of the quartz crisis.
Milestones of an independent manufacturer
Eberhard & Co. can look back on a series of significant milestones: from the first wrist chronograph in 1919 to winning the GPHG Award in 2016 for the SCAFOGRAF 300, and the opening of the company’s own museum in the historic Maison de l’Aigle. By participating in Watches and Wonders Geneva and through selected collaborations, most recently with renowned car collector Corrado Lopresto, Eberhard & Co. is consolidating its presence in the world of haute horlogerie – as an independent brand of mechanical timepieces with character, history, and style, which cultivates its tradition while looking to the future.
