Christian Coigny and the dialogue between light and shadow

Christian Coigny is a master of traditional black and white photography, renowned for his mastery of light and shadow. Based near Lausanne, he prefers working with film and the darkroom to create authentic images – a method influenced by artists such as Edward Hopper and Georgia O'Keeffe.

„I have always used film. I like the darkroom, the physical contact with my work. I like knowing that people are seeing a photograph that has not been altered in any way… and I will continue to do so until the end.“

Elka Watch Co. and a tribute to photography

Inspired by the aesthetics of black and white photography in the 1960s and 1970s, the watch brand Elka presents two limited editions of its „S Series“ on the occasion of the exhibition – monochrome editions that celebrate the black and white aesthetic.

These are equipped with the La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement with a 68-hour power reserve. Its precision can be read on the black or white sunburst dial beneath a sapphire chevé crystal (imitating the domed appearance of vintage Hesalite crystals).
