Citizen expands its successful collection - and downsizes it at the same time

We're talking about "Tsuyosa." The term means strength in Japanese. And indeed, the Citizen model of the same name made a strong impression when it was launched in 2022.

Color, automatic movement, vintage design and automatic function - the Japanese watch manufacturer combines these ingredients in the usual Citizen quality with an attractive price-performance ratio.

It's no wonder that demand was enormous and sustained from the very beginning. The "Tsuyosa" has now become a bestseller, available in many color schemes and various dial designs.

And now there's also a smaller version of the existing 40-millimeter model. "Finally," many of those who don't have such a strong wrist or simply prefer the popular diameters from the last millennium will surely say.

Three models with a diameter of 37 millimeters are being launched, in the colors ice blue, pastel pink, and dark green. The price: €299 (RRP).

Inside the new „Tsuyosa“ models, an automatic in-house movement (caliber 8210) still operates – the same one as in the larger versions, to be precise. Also retained are the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with magnifying lens over the date window, the exhibition case back, luminescent indices and hands, the crown at 4 o'clock, and the integrated stainless steel bracelet for comfortable wear.

The „Tsuyosa“ collection is a reinterpretation of the NH299 series, which was one of Citizen’s best-selling mechanical watch lines in the late 1990s and early 2000s, especially in overseas markets.
