Discover yourself through jewelry
Personalized jewelry is a trend. In truth, jewelry pieces with which the wearer can particularly identify have always been popular. Customers often opt for engraving to give a piece of jewelry or a watch a personal meaning and emotional message. But there are many more options.
Jewelry enthusiasts have now discovered their love for colored gemstones, and the trend of wearing a "birthstone" in jewelry—especially as a center stone in engagement rings—associated with a specific month, has finally arrived. The concept is sound: a pleasantly manageable selection across all 12 months creates an attractive jewelry assortment in which customers can discover something that reflects their own birth month. Incidentally, the birthstone for February is amethyst, in case you're looking for some inspiration for a piece of jewelry.
Necklaces and lockets featuring the 12 zodiac signs, from Capricorn in January to Sagittarius in December, are already part of the standard jewelry range. But have you ever considered incorporating the Chinese zodiac signs into jewelry for your customers? Stories and myths can help evoke emotions in your customers when making a purchase decision.

2025 is the Year of the Snake
The Chinese New Year has just begun. Unlike our Greek zodiac signs, the Chinese zodiac signs don't change from month to month, but rather by year. On January 29th, the Year of the Snake was ushered in. The Snake is therefore the Chinese zodiac sign for the years 2025, 2013, 2001, 1989, and further back in a twelve-year cycle.
It can be worthwhile to dedicate some attention to the Year of the Snake, either to attract new customer groups or to delight existing customers with something new and different. Of course, the jewelry is also for everyone who wasn't born under the sign of the Snake.

Symbolism of wisdom, elegance, and immortality
In Asia, the snake is a symbol of wisdom and intelligence, intuition and adaptability. It is associated with elegance and charm. Those who adorn themselves with snakes are therefore, metaphorically speaking, adorning themselves with these qualities. And who could possibly say no to so many positive associations?
A trend also observed in colored gemstones is reflected in the Chinese zodiac: the spiritual meaning of symbols and materials is playing an increasingly important role for people. The snake symbolizes enlightenment and immortality, as it is in its nature to shed its skin – a sign of renewal and youth. In folk belief, the snake also serves as protection against evil spirits.
In our Christian-influenced, Western cultural context, the snake may be seen as a cunning seductress, not to be trusted. Yet we also know it as a symbol of healing, perspicacity, and vigilance. The Aesculapian snake, coiled around the staff or chalice, is still considered a symbol of pharmacists and apothecaries.
Mystical sculptures by Giovanni Raspini
Arguably the most breathtaking snake-themed jewelry comes from Giovanni Raspini. This Italian silver jewelry brand from Tuscany transforms silver into true works of art using the traditional lost-wax casting technique. Sculptural jewelry is all the rage this year, but for Giovanni Raspini, it has been part of their DNA for years. The iconic "Animalier" is completely dedicated to the allure of animal symbols and, of course, has devoted an entire collection to the snake, guaranteeing a mesmerizing presence.

The designs in the "Serpente" collection are versatile, offering numerous combination possibilities and looks. Necklaces, earrings, and bracelets feature either the captivating scale structure of a snake, or the silver snakes themselves form and coil into hoops, necklaces, bangles, and rings with a mystical aura. These accessories are perfect for the red carpet!
