CASIO brings back the legendary "DW-5000" from G-SHOCK – as a faithful remake.

With this new timepiece, CASIO presents the most authentic remake to date of the first G-SHOCK from 1983. The iconic "DW-5000C," which conquered the world as the first shock-resistant watch, is now being reborn with meticulous attention to detail. This model comes closer to the original than any other interpretation or reissue and will become a standard in the G-SHOCK range.

Back to the roots of robustness

The introduction of the G-SHOCK in 1983 revolutionized the watch market: For the first time, it made it possible for watches to remain undamaged even when worn in extreme work environments or during extreme sports such as skating and BMX. With the „DW-5000R“ G-SHOCK pays tribute to this heritage with its retro design.

A faithful reissue with modern features

The design of the „DW-5000R“ It is an exact homage to the original: from the bracelet with its typical notches to the dial's color scheme in red, blue, and yellow. The stainless steel case with its screw-down case back and engraved "Shock Resistant" inscription has also been faithfully reproduced.

But in addition to the retro elements, the new model also offers modern features: A bright LED backlight ensures optimal readability, while the bezel and strap are made of bio-based resin – a sustainable upgrade for the future.

The bracelet corresponds to the original design of the „DW-5000C“ in its original length, in the irregularities in the area of the strap holes and even in the position of the indentations.

The bezel with the inscriptions „Protection“ and „G-SHOCK“ is also in the flat design of the original from 1983, as is the red, blue and yellow color scheme of the dial.

Made in Japan – Quality from Yamagata

The „DW-5000R“ is manufactured in the renowned Yamagata Casio factory, where the original model was developed. This ensures the watch remains true not only to its design but also to its place of origin.
