Frederique Constant honors young watchmakers for outstanding achievements

At Inhorgenta 2026, the Central Association of Watchmakers honored the best young talents in the German watchmaking trade.

The winners of the German Championship were honored at a ceremony on the Watch Talks stage in Hall A1 at Inhorenta. Albert Fischer, President of the Central Association of Watchmakers, presented the awards to the three winners in the young watchmaker category.

In recognition of their outstanding achievements, the winners received high-quality mechanical wristwatches donated by Frederique Constant, Tutima Glashütte, and Rolex Germany. They were also invited to attend the exclusive Inhorgenta Award Gala together with their instructors.

Third place this year went to Yannik Weber (left), an apprentice at Robin Israel. With his precision craftsmanship, technical understanding, and great dedication, he impressed the jury and underscored the high quality of German watchmaker training.

Weber can look forward to receiving a “Classics Premiere” from Frederique Constant as his prize. The 38.5-millimeter stainless steel watch is equipped with the G100 caliber from La Joux-Perret, offers a 68-hour power reserve, and features a “Côte de Genève” finish that is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The blue vintage-style dial rounds off the classic look.

As a manufacturer, Frederique Constant is particularly dependent on highly trained young watchmakers. Passing on craftsmanship and mechanical expertise is essential to securing our tradition and innovative strength in the long term. That is why we are particularly committed to promoting young talent in a targeted manner and actively supporting their entry into the high art of watchmaking,” emphasizes Markus Rettig (left), Managing Director of Frederique Constant Germany.

In addition to recognizing individual achievements, the Central Association aims to get more young people excited about a career in watchmaking. Financial support programs and additional measures to attract young talent will continue to be supported by renowned industry partners in 2026. This is intended to secure the future of the watchmaking trade in the long term.
